Sidi WIRE 2 CARBON Cycling Shoe

The Sidi Wire 2 Carbon Cycling Shoe is a road race cycling shoe very similar to the shoes worn by Peter Sagan and Chris Froome when they won some of the top road races in the world. Every feature in the Wire 2 Carbon creates a cycling shoe that supports a rider as he takes on a climb, settles into a time trial effort or makes punch-like efforts in a sprint. The vented carbon sole is handmade; carbon fiber is weaved at opposing angles so just the right stiffness is provided for maximum power transfer from shoe to pedal. Sidi engineers have found just the right amount of stiffness while still allowing for a small amount of controlled flex in the toes which will need to bend on each pedal stroke. In addition to providing a stiff sole for a racer, the Vent Carbon Sole is designed with vent and air channels to dissipate heat and increase air flow. If you are a triathlete, the water drains through the sole so your feet stay dry and comfortable after you come out of the swim. A cyclist or triathlete can open or close the shoe which can then be trained and raced in through four seasons. The sole features a standard 3-hole drilling pattern, printed 10 mm lateral and fore/aft cleat alignment scale and well as the Look Memory Eyelet® for easy cleat alignment and replacement. For walkability, the polyurethane heel pad is replaceable. The fit is another feature that creates a cycling shoe for the racer looking for every advantage. Sidi’s Techno-3 push dials can be turned in small increments so a foot fits comfortably and securely along the entire length of the shoe. The reliable Sidi closure system has been improved by the all new Sidi Wire material that makes the pressure even on both sides and along the entire shoe. The adjustments are easy to make even as a rider is leaned over on the bike turning the dial in order to perfect the fit of his cycling shoe. Features for a good fit don’t just end with the dials. The soft instep closure system is a wide, curved strap made with a pad that continues to secure the foot in the center of the shoe. The system can be adjusted from both sides to distribute pressure evenly over the instep area. The heel won’t slide out on a steep climb or sprint thanks to the adjustable heel retention device that closes the back of the shoe around a rider’s heel. Like all the other adjustments in the Wire 2 Carbon shoe, each side of the heel can be adjusted independently for a perfect fit. The entire shoe is made of Microfibra Techpro, a microfiber considered an innovative eco-friendly leather great for use in a sport like cycling where athletes ride their bikes through rain, heat and cold and need cycling gear that is resistant to wear. The microfiber is water-repellant, strong, light weight and treated with anti-mold to fight away bacteria.
