The Sidi ERGO 5 Road Cycling Shoe has SIDI’s classic design of a stiff sole with a great adjustment system, yet the Ergo 5 has had many upgrades so a racer comes to the start line with even more of an advantage. The Ergo 5 Mega is designed for the wider foot and a higher instep. The fit can be customized using Sidi’s new Tecno 3 buckle system that has two different ratcheting dials that fit along the entire length of the shoe. Sidi’s new Wire material is used to tighten the shoe so each part of the shoe fits around your foot with equal pressure. The Wire makes it easy to adjust the fit while on your bike. The lower portion of the cycling shoe can be tightened using a Velcro® strap made with integrated polymer teeth that latch onto each other and become unmovable when you are pedaling. Sidi’s Soft Instep Closure System is a soft, wide curved padded strap that can be adjusted from both sides to distribute pressure evenly over the instep. The reinforced heel cup secures your heel in place so you can feel secure that in the final sprint, your foot will lose no power. The cup is part of the upgrade: it has been made lighter while not losing its purpose. Ventilation has been added to the tongue so a rider’s foot stays dry and the Tecnopro synthetic leather doesn’t absorb moisture so the material maintains its shape. The leather has enough flexibility to fit around your foot, yet it’s strong enough to keep all your foot power inside of the shoe. Sidi engineers found a way to put two different materials together, nylon and carbon fiber, to create the Twelve Carbon Composite sole that is lighter and stiffer than any previous sole. Since the nylon doesn’t absorb water and doesn’t lose rigidity in hot or humid weather, the sole maintains its race stiffness. The Ergo 5 is designed for the racer who wants speed and security in his cycling shoes.
