Making the transition from riding in warm weather to riding in cold weather can be a challenge. In the summer, a cyclist dresses lightly-- lightweight, well ventilated short sleeve jersey and shorts. Yet as the weather changes, cycling gear must also change. In cooler weather, you need a jersey made with sleeves and a warmer fabric. The cool weather riding jersey can feel like it weighs you down and restricts movement. Castelli has fixed the problem with the Beta Rain or Shine Jacket that provides what you need for cooler, wet weather; bulk is eliminated while sweat evaporates quickly. The Polartec® NeoShell® 4-way-stretch fabric on the front is Castelli’s lightest and most stretchy fabric on the cycling clothing production line. The fabric blocks wind and water but ventilation designed into the fabric keeps you from overheating as the pace of the peloton picks up. On the back, the Nano Flex Light woven fabric has the same features, it covers you while also ventilating your body. Added treatment also creates a surface for water to roll off. You don’t overheat while moisture rolls off and sweat evaporates. Extra ventilation is made possible by the easy to open YKK Vislon® zipper. When it gets warmer and the intensity of the ride goes up, unzip the front of the Beta jacket and you will cool down. The stretchy fabric in the long sleeve jersey is cut for a close fit.
